With Jennifer Lopez turning 54 on 24th July 2023, it seems fitting to give a big shoutout to Bennifer 2.0. Last year, she reunited with her now husband, Ben Affleck, after a span of twenty years. On her birthday, JLO calls this first split with Ben Affleck naïve.
She says, “It’s a beautiful love story that we got a second chance. “Before we kind of put [our relationship] out there and we were naïve and it got a little trampled. We both were like, ‘Wow, we’re so happy and we don’t want any of that to come into play again.’
She further adds that both are smarter now and have more experience. Also, they are now in different places in their lives, and having kids will definitely call for more responsible decisions. She even went on saying, “We’re so protective because it is such a beautiful time for all of us.”
The words of the actress, singer, and woman icon definitely reflect much more about the difference in Bennifer 2.0 than the early days of their relationship.
But it’s not that Jennifer and Ben are being protective about their relationship for the first time. Even in their early days of dating in the 2000s, the couple always maintained privacy about their bond.
Their relationship started budding when Jennifer Lopez was still the wife of Criss Judd. Love blossomed between JLO and Ben Affleck in 2001 and on the sets of “Gigli.”
Eventually, Jennifer Lopez got divorced, and her engagement with Ben Affleck happened in 2002. But unfortunately, the couple parted ways after two years in 2004.
It is said that the relationship broke because Ben was not happy about the media attention his relationship with JLO or the speculations about their marriage got at that time.
But after many years and after the Covid-19 pandemic, the couple made an attempt to rejuvenate their relationship. Finally, Jennifer Lopez confirmed her second innings with Ben Affleck before the release of her movie “Marry Me” in 2022.
JLO has been all praise for Ben, and she says, “I’m so proud of the him, I’m so proud of the man he’s become that I’ve watched from afar.
Being honest with each other, being loving, that’s just the basis of everything. I feel like he’s at a place in his life where — just like how I feel about myself — it’s been a journey of learning yourself and figuring yourself out, getting to a place where you feel really good on your own and who you are so you can be in a happy, healthy relationship,
