The 71st Miss World 2023 Pageant Returns To India After Nearly 3 Decades
After a long wait of over 27 years, India is finally playing host to the prestigious 71st Miss World 2023 pageant.
The event was first announced to be held in the United Arab Emirates, but in a press conference, it was announced that the event is to be held in India after almost 3 decades.
The decision to give India this high honor of hosting such an event is a sign of recognizing India as a hub for cultural heritage, promoting diversity, and promoting women’s empowerment. The last time the Miss World pageant was held in India was back in 1996, which was about 27 years ago.
“I am delighted to announce India as the new home of the 71st Miss World Final! I have a great affection for India from the first moment I visited this incredible country more than 30 years ago! We cannot wait to share your unique and diverse culture, world-class attractions, and breathtaking locations with the rest of the world,” said Julia Morley, Chairperson and CEO of the Miss World Organization.
Jamil Saidi, Chairman PME, said, “The 71st Miss World Festival is in the most deserving country, to showcase this magnificent event. It enables representatives from 140 countries to come and experience Incredible India!”

The current Miss World, Karolina Bielawska, expressed her views and said, “India prepares to welcome the world with open arms the 71st Miss World 2023 and showcase the country’s grace, beauty, and progressive spirit.
