Early Life
Amanda Seyfried grew up in a relatively normal family with her parents, Jack Seyfried and Ann Seyfried. Both her parents are a pharmacist and a therapist, respectively. Although she is basically of German descent, Seyfried has Irish and Scottish heritage as well.
Seyfried grew up with an older sister Jennifer Seyfried, she is with the rock band Love City as a musician. Growing up, Amanda went to William Allen High School and later to Fordham University, in 2003. But she dropped out the next year when she got the role in Mean Girls.
Career
After she got her first movie role as Karen in Mean Girls, there was no turning back for Amanda Seyfried. Although that was not her first acting job, she appeared in recurring roles in All My Children and As the World Turns.
Ever since Mean Girls, Amanda did other movies like Nine Lives, American Gun, and Alpha Dog. She played roles in tv series like Justice, House, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and American Dad!
